The Trustees of Sinfonia Cymru are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual as Chief Executive to replace Sophie Lewis, who joins the National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain as Managing Director early next year.

Sinfonia Cymru is a forward-looking chamber orchestra based in Cardiff. It exists to support young professional musicians at the outset of their careers, placing them at the front and centre of its bold vision by increasing opportunities to experiment and try out new ideas. Sharing exceptional musical experiences with the people of Wales and with a growing reputation for doing things differently, Sinfonia Cymru has attracted national media and sector recognition for its work and has witnessed rapid development as well as significant growth in recent years. The orchestra’s commitment to excellence and innovation was recently recognised by the Arts Council of Wales through increased annual revenue funding.

This opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to lead one of the most distinctive and innovative arts organisations in the UK as it continues to pursue its unique vision and to explore new opportunities, including the development of an exciting new base for the orchestra.

c. £40,000 permanent, full-time contract (six months probationary period).

Based at Media Centre, S4C, Parc Ty Glas, Llanishen Cardiff CF14 5DU. The building is fully accessible. Sinfonia Cymru offers a contributory pension scheme administered by The Pensions Trust. Sinfonia Cymru is an equal opportunities employer.
